BudexHUB: The Administrative Timber Building of the Future

Near České Budějovice, a unique structure has emerged, seamlessly blending modern technology, natural materials, and a bold vision for the future. It stands as a symbol of how architecture can redefine the workplace while integrating sustainability, energy self-sufficiency, and Czech creativity into a single harmonious entity.

A Fusion of Concrete and Wood

BUDEX HUB features a hybrid construction combining a reinforced concrete core with wooden CLT elements, achieving a distinctive balance of strength and lightness. The interior spaces are designed to be open and filled with natural light, offering more than 2,300 m² of usable area. From the outset, design and meticulous craftsmanship were top priorities, as the building’s final aesthetic was essential to the investor.

Collaborating on this project has been an incredible professional experience for us,” says Jiří Oslizlo of NOVATOP. “To me, BUDEX HUB is more than just a building; it sets a new benchmark for administrative timber structures in the Czech Republic, inspiring both locally and internationally with its uniqueness and quality.”

One of BUDEX HUB’s key objectives is achieving a year-round balance between local electricity production and consumption. This includes energy use for heating, cooling, charging corporate electric vehicles, direct on-site consumption, and supplying public fast-charging stations for electric cars and trucks. The anticipated annual electricity production is 500 MWh, while total yearly consumption is projected at 480 MWh. The BUDEX HUB complex also includes designated outdoor cultivation areas and a greenhouse, producing all the vegetables needed for the on-site kitchen and fresh bars, which serve up to 200 people.

We supplied 1,900 m² of predominantly exposed ELEMENT ceiling panels and 550 m² of exposed SOLID interior walls in thicknesses of 84, 124, and 168 mm. The project involved numerous highly complex installation details due to fire protection requirements for the steel structure, which our design and manufacturing teams successfully addressed. The interior is dominated by exposed NOVATOP panels, while our ACOUSTIC panels enhance the elegant design on the top floor.
